Broadway.com resident artist Justin ‘Squigs’ Robertson recently checked out the otherworldly love triangle at On a Clear Day You Can See Forever, in which co-stars Harry Connick Jr., David Turner and Jessie Mueller prove that a tango’s not just for two. Crooner Connick plays Dr. Mark Bruckner, a shrink who falls for his male patient’s (Turner) jazzy female alter ego (Mueller) and gets caught in a decidedly unconventional affair. After seeing the action at the St. James Theatre, Squigs penned a portrait of the stars. Check it out, then head to Broadway to watch the tango in person.
About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home. Click to e-mail Squigs. Photo by Matthew Murphy
